Someone who fights for that child, reaching out to teachers, social workers, parents, lawyers, caregivers and anyone else who can meet that child’s needs. Someone whose sole mission is to help clear a path out of the complex, overburdened child welfare system and into a safe, permanent home. Behind every CASA volunteer who lifts up the voice and life of an abused or neglected child stands a generous donor like you. Thank you for your gift . With your support, Southeast CASA is developing new tools and resources for an ever-expanding five county region to train and support the dedicated volunteers who work on the front lines for children entangled in the child welfare system. We know that the CASA model works. Research shows that a child with a CASA volunteer is half as likely to spend time in long-term foster care as one without a volunteer. And once that child leaves the system, he or she is much more likely to stay out of foster care. Permanently. More than 26 volunteers contributed nearly 647 advocacy hours last year—that’s $19,500 worth of service. More than 4 new volunteers—regular people from all walks of life—completed training last year to become volunteer advocates. In all, 83 children and youth had the sustained, personal attention of a CASA volunteer in 2024. But with over 600,000 children passing through foster care each year, there are simply not enough volunteers to go around. That is why Southeast CASA has made a commitment—a promise to our children—to put a CASA volunteer into the life of every child who needs one.
